The speaker box is A 3way, floor standing, Technics SB-LX90. My orignal technic 15", pumps 300w max, w/100RMS(whatever this is), they bump loud, but i've pumping the whole 550 into one technic. I am buying A punch2 @500w/250RMS, dual voice coils, and I currently use 16gauge MONSTER cord. Which problems can I run into, I need to know if this kind of woofer, is suitable for A home receiver, SONY550w. I just want madd bass, as I run seperate tweeters/screamers. I just don't want this to overhear my home receiver, as my current 15" 300w speakers makes it go off, as I haven't A fan, for my OH so hot sony Home receiver. |

A Sony 550 watt home receiver? Let me guess, you have a mad pumpin' car system? You are going into this all wrong. This is home audio, a little different than car audio. And no, the Punch will not work well with any Sony home audio product. If you think you are getting your Sony to go into protect mode with your Technics, try using a 4 ohm speaker on it with dual voice coils that dips to 1 ohm at regular intervals.
