I recently had the good fortune to acquire a mint condition Lirpa 1b amplifier at a relatively reasonable price. I am pairing this classic audio gem with the unsurpassed Jolida JD100A tube CD player. But I am at a loss as to the optimal speakers that would do this equipment justice. Maggies, Quads, Walsh Ohm, Rectilinear, Macintosh, or perhaps ....? I am throwing the matter open for suggestions from the many audiophile experts with far greater experience than me.

What are the specs of the Amp? What kind of connections does it use for the speakers, balanced (XLR) unbalanced? What is the impedance and power Watts/channel? In the meantime check the usual suspecs: http://www.bwspeakers.com http://www.bang-olufsen.com/ http://www.jbl.com to name a few |
