Hi all, I just bought a 6.1 home theater set of JBL speakers. Hooked them up to my old Tecnics receiver and they work great - cable and DVD's never 'felt' more full. BUT the JBL subwoofer has no power source or power button,. It ony has the (+) and (-) speaker screws. So how does it get powered and do I have to by a special receiver to use it? Please help out - thanks. Jake

I returned the sub-woofer claming it was the wrong sub with the speaker set. I beleive the set was a SCS136.6 which comes with a powered sub, and they let me walk out with a passive sub. So I returned it for the only remaining 100W powered sub they had by JBL which was not black but silver and part of a SCS145.5 set. At this point, I am just happy to have a sub that works, even if the speakers are black and the sub is silver. It's all working well now. I ordered some more wall-brackets from JBL too.
