I am repairing an older Bose AM5 sat/speaker system for a relative. Sounds like the upper driver in one of the satilites has a delaminated voice coil. I removed the driver and it sounds like something is rattiling around inside the magnet gap area. It believe it need reconening. It might be cheaper just to buy a replacement driver. I tried to get him to think about new (better) speakers, but no-go.
Does anyone know where to shop for Bose replacement/refurbs' the factory will not sell parts to the public. I know of a shop that will recone if parts are available, New England Speaker Stoneham MA. Prices can vary quite a bit, I'd like to have other options.
