Perhaps some of you experts can answer this question:
I always see the warnings in manuals stating "DO NOT attempt to bi-wire or bi-amplify unless you have removed the jumper bars." I'm just curious, not being an electrician, why this is a problem...would it adversely affect the sound only or would it actually damage the speaker?

bi-wiring will destroy nothing, if you maintain polarity, you are simply creating a parallel circuit.

Bi -amping will blow up your power source, or just shut it down, if you are lucky.

Thanks Nuck...so clearly bi-amping with them on is a problem, but why do they say to remove them for bi-wiring? Does it affect the sound?

Marginally so, in my opinion.
Alternativally, remove the strips and replace with speaker wire
