Hi all. I want a standalone cdp with hdcd capabilities. I will use the Pioneer for movies, a new dedicated cdp would be ducky. Say $1000 max. Thanks. |

MR, I saw your reviews, and your whole kit sounds great! Continue to enjoy. I question the NAD 521bee as compared to your 542, have you heard that one? Maye not, I may post again for that one. So does your 542 play SACD as well? My first real look as boxing day sales coming up! Will your player do 5.1 played in 2.1 or 2 channel read only? Jamie |

No Jamie, the NADs C521, 541, 541i and 542 are all redbook cd players, I'm not sure about the others but the 542 plays HDCD. I have a Denon Universal DVD2900 that handles DVD-A and SACD and is paired with a Marantz SR7300. Cheers |

Geez laweez, the closest dealer was at 1K for the 1072 Rotel. Gotta be someplace better, of course, that was over the phone price. Looking for NAD prices now. MR I have followed your posts, and congrats! I may need to lok a bit further. Merry Christmas! Cheers

Why do you want a separate CD player? If i were you I'd look into the Jolida JD 700. It's a tube DVD player that does redbook, hdcd, and dvd audio. Very nice piece for $1,095 that could be used for DVDs and CDs. Here's alink if you're interested. http://www.jolida.com/catalogue/models/jd700.shtml |
