Buy an autoformer based speaker selector switch and place it in line.

Most audio shops should sell something that will get you up and running. The cost will vary with the quality of the autoformer and the amount of wattage it can handle.

Too Easy Frosty.
Two 4 ohm loads in series create an unstable return load to the amp, let alone the soak of the first speaker.
Very unstable and undesirable.

Looks good on paper though, no?

In any event, experimentation is good, but there are a plethora of quality active subs out there intended for home use that will without a doubt be less of hassle.

Maybe Justin will let us know what he ended up doing

Possibly Justin tried the series connection and passed away in the resulting fire.
