I'm trying to decide between the Pioneer912K and the AVR230 both of which I saw at circuit city. The pioneer seems to have good reviews but the store folks insist that the HK has better processors. So I'm a bit confused now. Please help.

AVR,

What speakers do you have?

Johnny,

I haven't got my Speakers yet. I was looking at the Klipsch quintetII, Hsu VT-12 and Polk 6700. Maybe I'm doing this wrong but I was actually going for the receiver first and then try for the speakers?

I am the biggest Pioneer booster on this board but I would say between these two recievers I would go with the H/K especially with Polk and Klipsch. The H/K is a good match with both while the Pioneer while a good unit would not match as well with the Klipsch. If you decide on the Polk's then the Pioneer would be fine. Overall the H/K at this price point is a bit better.
