I've poked around here for awhile and discovered that I need a "Phono Preamp", something of which I am completely clueless about.
Could someone recommend the Brand/Model # of a reasonable Phono Preamp, and/or some additional reading material???

Try the NAD PP2 Phono Pre-amp, probably can find for like $60-70USD. Since it's NAD... it's a good piece of equipment.
