Today I purchased a powered mixer(BEHRINGER PHM3000). When I connect the 1/4" speaker cables from my mixer to my speakers, I get a very weak, whisper-like sound. The mixer I purchased is 800 watts. Do I need to purchase a power amp in order for this setup to make the loud sound it was made for? What am I missing? Thanks in advance

I think you may be missing the Manual.
Please see that first.
Maybe a source/switch?

in the manual, the only configurations that it mentions use speakon cables directly to the speakers or cables connected to a power amp which then connects the speakers. I guess I just need the speakon cables?
