I have a set of old Advent loudspeakers that still sound great. I would like to use them for the rear speakers for my surround sound, but when I want to listen to CDs and other stereo music, the front speakers are utilized. How can I switch my back speakers to front speakers when I desire?

You really shouldn't try this. There is no switch box which easily allows this function. A-B amplifier switches are designed to connect two amplifiers where one amp can be powered down when not in use. That isn't possible in the set up you have. Should you forget to throw the correct switch, you could damage your receiver.
