Hi all ! I am looking for a surround reciever and was looking at either the Yamaha RX-V2500 ($1000 Canadian) or this Pioneer Elite ($1150 Canadian). Any opinions ? thanks ! |

Both of those are very good. I would also give Harmon Kardon a look. |

Hi, I actually bought the VSX-72 2006 model. I was told it's better than the previous. I am hoping to figure out the hook up soon to get it up and running. I will be running (bi-amping) Paradigm 11se MK3's. Also a pair of Sony's for the rear surround for now (my girlfriends) which actually dont sound too bad. The shop i bought it at said the 2006 VSX-72 has better circuitry (esharc) , more hook up ports and a more advanced MCACC system among other improvements - plus a better price tag ! I think i will be happy considering this is my first surround reciever. Apparently the 74i model has a smaller capacitor than this one. Anyone else heard or have one of these 2006 recievers ? |
