ok im just starting to get into home theater...i have decided to not go all out on my first home theater...
mains:
(2) JBL E90's(floorstanding)
surrounds:
(2) JBL E30's(bookshelf)
center:
(1) JBL EC35
sub:
(1) JBL E250P

i know this isn't the greatest system but for a senior in high school and heading off to college soon its what i could afford...i need a decent 5.1 reciever...about 400-600 dollars...i need about 6 audio inputs and 5 video inputs(1 s-video)...thanks guys for your input...

You should find a 7.1 system in that range. I just purchased a Harman Kardon from their site.

If you've already bought those JBLs and cannot return them then I'd get a warm receiver like a Marantz 5500.

Look at accessories4less.com for factory-authorized refurbs and hifi.com for new stock.
