I just purchased a new receiver for my speaker system because my old one burned out. Anyway, the back of the receiver has an RCA output for the subwoofer while my old receiver used the pair of wires.

How can I connect this woofer to my new receiver because really don't want to buy a new sub and I know that there is a way.

Why can't you hook your speakers up the same way as the old receiver?

The new receiver accepts an RCA connection as the output to the sub.

The old receiver accepted the twisted pair of wires. basically the same way that you plug the regular surround into most receivers.

Your new receiver needs a name, what make and model?
The receiver is giving you a sub out for another amp, inside the sub or out.
Does your sub(make, model) have satellite(speaker) outs?

And what kind of sub is it? If it's a good sub it may be worth the added expense of a power amp to power the sub, otherwise you're better off buying a powered sub.

Can we just hook the sub woofer's either L or R+/- channel to unused main speaker ouput posts L or R+/- of the receiver?
