Maybe use a Onkyo NC-500, with the Onkyo DS-787 as a preamp and power source for the center channel and zone 2.
The fronts would be powered by an Onkyo M282, and the rears powered by another M-282.
Suggestions? |

If streaming music from the Internet, I'd get a nice M-Audio soundcard with either digital or analog outputs and connect that to any receiver.

Edster is 100% correct. I spent $100 give or take on a M-Audio Audiophile (not even the 192!) and the difference between a Sound Blaster Audigy Pro and the M-Audio through a cheap 70s Philips Stereo Receiver was unbeliavable! I would recommend that card to anyone!
The Sound Blaster would mute out lows and highs, so I would run loudness on on the receiver to make up for that. As soon as I got the M-Audio, all my tone controls went to flat as there was nothing to make up for. |
