From your list I would suggest you listen to the following:- Tannoy(MX-3/MX-4) Mission(M31-32/M50-51) KEF(Q1) AE(EVO1/Aelite 1) Seeing as you mention the B2's, I assume you are looking for standmount/bookshelf speakers? The quads are lovely speakers, but may need more power than what the SR4500/4600 can provide |

I found the B2s to be very colored on the highs, with really weak mids. Liked their bass but that's because I'm a basshead, some people might consider them a little on the boomy side. Ipodpune, from your list I'd go with something from Acoustic Energy. |

Im really surprised by that Edster. I compared, and not in the same room at the same time, many different brands. I even heard the Ascend 170's at a friends house. I thought the MA silvers and the bronze's were, for the price range, some of the best I heard. I guess different ears and different rooms comes into play. I would love to hear the Ascends again, anyone in Boston giving a demo??? |

Patrick, ask around on the ascend website forum, I'm pretty sure I've run across at least one Boston owner. Yeah but there's no substitute for ABing side by side. And of course your personal taste might differ from mine. |

LOL yes it can be a slippery slope. That's why I advise people to use reviews and forums as a way to narrow down their list so that in the end they are choosing between only say 2-3 things instead of 10-15. |
