Does any of u guys knows the diference between JBL S38 or JBL E50?

I read a fantastic review of JBL S38 on stereophile 2001, but this speaker is no longer for sale.

I went to JBL website and saw JBL E50 wich similar to the JBL S38 (same dimentions, same specifications) but with a diferent name.

Could these speakers be the same, or is E50 just a bad imitation?
