I know nothing about sound systems, so be gentle.

So, I'll be listening to one of my nice old LPs, the Talking Heads, say, and suddenly, the sound stops completely.

I've found by trial and error that I can sometimes make it come back on by turning the equalizer off -- or on.

What's going on here? What should I do?
