I've only been doin' this a couple o' weeks, so please excuse my questions....

I burn my CDs with an HP Pavilion 552w XP (Pentium 4; 2+Ghz CPU)....has Windows Media Player installed (came with it)....

I use an RCA "boom-box" to "preview" the CDs after burning....it's probably 8 to 10 tears old (hey - it was given to me)....

The burned CD sounds perfect (well, as good as it can being squeezed through 2 1/2 inch speakers; a little "tinny", ya' might say) being played back through Windows Media Player (my computer)....BUT, when played back through the "aged" RCA boom-box, I hear clicks & skips....

I knew from the exhaustive research that it must be the bit (sample) rate and/or the burn speed....how do I set these 2 criteria in the burner (or, "slow it down") so it will play properly in the RCA "dinosaur"?
