Please don't flame me as I am new to all this.In the past it was said never to store videotapes near speakers because it will ruin them. I have run into a storage problem for my dvds so I have placed them in a bookshelf right near my speakers so my question is this: 1.Is it safe to store dvds near home theater and PC speakers? Thank you. |

Speakers have magnets in them. Tapes don't like magnets. DVDs don't care. |

As these guys said - the magnets in the speakers was what ruined video tapes. DVD works in a completely different manner, so magnets won't affect them. |
