I received a refurbished 650 system Friday and decided to set it on top of my floor model tv. After hooking everything up, I noticed that at the top of my screen the picture was distorted. I moved the receiver off of my tv and everything was fine. Has anyone experienced this problem?

It's probably an indication that the receiver is putting out a magnetic field and is affecting your tv. Placing components or speakers that aren't magnetically shielded near your tv can actually damage it.

I'd suggest placing your receiver on a shelf far enough away from your tv so that it doesn't affect it. The center and main speakers on the HTS650 are magnetically shielded so you don't have to worry about having those near your tv.
