Please help me! I just convinced my wife to build a HT. For the speakers I decided I will go with Axiom. But for the receiver I am totally confused. To many specs and features to take in consideration. We will use this system for movies and music equally. I would expect more radio and cable than dvd and dvd-audio. Anyhow I will used almost entirelly for dvd-audio auditions and less for cd's and mp3.
What I care: build quality and hi-fi delivery.
What I don't care: features, certifications and calibration (set-up) facilities:-)

Thank very much

Much depends on which Axiom set up you are purchasing. If there are any 4 ohm speakers in this set up Alan Lofft of Axiom often recommends Harman Kardon receivers. You can find the HK AVR330 at onecall.com for $499. They supply good clean power at a constant level to all speakers.
