I was looking at going the "component route" and was looking at a Parasound 2 channel 250w amp. Now, my question is, can I pair this with my Yamaha DSP 1092-A integrated amplifier (which is hooked up to my home theatre) and use the Parasound to just power the two front channels? Any drawbacks or anything I should be aware of?

Thanks,
Dave

First you must check to see if your integrated Yamaha has pre-outs. If so, then there will be a huge advantage of sound quality and power in general. This would be a good idea and there should be no drawbacks what so ever unless you hook it up wrong. What model Parasound amp are you using? The sound will become more transparent, the soundstage should grow wider and deeper, and the dynamics should be unmatched with the Parasound compared to the Yamaha. Good luck
