A guy gave me a pair of 901 Series IV's with an equalizer. I have them installed on an old tuner/amp that I had. But when I have them on any bass at all distorts the sound and makes it vibrate. I was wondering what it was.

You might check and see if all of the drivers are securely screwed into the cabinet. Can I assume the cabinet itself is pretty solid?

Any scratchy sounds then, or just cabinet vibration?
