I recently got a Denon DCM 450 CD player. It has two sets of RCA's on the back; one labeled "variable" and the other is labeled "fix", as well as a digital coax.
Denon no longer has any information on this unit on their website and I have been unable to find any information on it at all. If someone can tell me what the intended purpose is for the "fix" and "variable" jacks I would greatly appreciate it.

use the fix for better sound.
variable is for you to control the sound level from your Cd player (remote) - if you want to connect it directly to your power amp.
