Speakers, anyone??
Oh yes, another Friday beer/pizza night has arrived!!
After knocking off at noon to watch some US OPen Golf, I am now ready to watch my first movie.
I tried to rent my second movie in 18months (sopranos disc2) ...duh??...they were sold out. Oh well..more reasons not to rent!!!! I did buy "Hitch", and will watch it 'later' since it isnt an LFE ridden movie.
Hmmmm....I still dont have a clue what I'll watch, but I plan to pick two LFE-Heavy movies for warmups, and then finish off the evening with the comedy(Hitch).
Cheers!!!! Time to dig through the archives to find an epic that will 'shake' things up |

No thanks I’ll take a rain check besides I’ve got better fish to fry, the chooses, arr there so, so, many films and as a former cinema projectionist, an IMAX film yes “The Dream is Alive” in all its six-track glory and with running an upper centre channel, wow sounds like IMAX to me tonight.

Andy I must know what size TV you have with all that home epicenter richter busting power your always on about??
Paul , Hitch was very funny. I bought The Notebook (for the wife mostly but I can dig it too), and I also got Napoleon dynamite and Spartan(great flic). |

Sadly it’s only 25in, hahaha, yes 25in and when I see a video projector going for the right price then I’ll bite on to it.
So in the meantime for the size of room 14xL 10xW 9xH it’s got to do and I hate it so much when all these yuppies with there flash cash and yet they can’t place three matching loudspeakers behind a screen with that $6000.00 dollar DLP video projector.
So any more questions for the former cinema projectionist, no!
Then I rest my case for now….

wise man you are, Andy...I'm also waiting for the projector of my dreams!
Almost bought the InFocus 4805 but now am waiting for its successor (which has true HDTV resolution) which will be coming out by the end of this summer but at around $2K---however by this time next year that price should drop considerably. |

Size matters not, look at my V8 in my Yugo. Please, like Paul said, you offer up all the jazz about richter scale and thx approved systems. You think lucas has a reference 20" tv?? Save the money from those paper subs and go with the projector first yoda. |

I didnt know Andy was a HT-fraud until he admitted to having an ECONO TV. Sorry, but theres no way of owning a 25"TV and claiming any sort of HT. Well, at least unless your 7.1 HT is situated in a 4x6' closet. |

ware it out Paul, ware it out, if I could possibly even care, no I’m not that impatient for the needs of a video projector, good things come for those who wait….
And I’m patient enough for waiting for the day and the opportunity to come along and when I see a video projector going for a price that I can afford and maintain has well with costs like the halogen lighting etc…
That’s when I’ll bite you Americans are all in a hurry to get to the moon, give it a rest, mate I can design a home cinema from the ground up, and for far less money as well, anyway back to the full six-track plus more!!!!

I realize the UK is 1-2 generations behind technology-wise, so I apologize for giving you a hard time about your small 4:3 Cinema screen.
That was rather rude on my part, and I should be ashamed of myself. I suppose for UK'ians, simply having color TV with more than 4TV channels is a big deal, so for that........I say "I'm Sorry". |

As a matter of fact we have more than 4 channels including digital channels, the BBC has around 5, I think digital channels, ITV has around 4 I think and channel 4 has 2 or 3 not that I care as I don’t watch the crap any more to many channels quantity not quality…
I like my Laser disc and DVD for motion picture film viewing and CD stereo music classical and film score music and the classicfm radio for relaxing, any more questions, right so put a soak in it……

I wasnt bragging about chicago. It's a liberal cesspool and I would never live in a haven for such lowlifes. I was only responding to eddies 'Paul wouldnt know a liberal' comment, so I thought I'd share with him my cesspool trip to chicago since that place is flooded with them.

This morning was a beautiful day for it too Maybe I should go over to the Home-audio subwoofer forum and start a golf thread since the majority of that thread has nothing to do with the intended topic anyway. |
