I just picked up a Marantz 6100 turntable. I am just a budding audiophile, what is your opinion on this player? I need a new cartridge and stylus for it for maximum enjoyment, any recommendations? Thank you.

Bud away, sir. The 6100 is certainly better than a sharp stick in the eye. No suggestions on a cartridge, though I would strongly suggest an eliptical stylus. (This may not seem such a frivolous remark when you consider what is available.)
