This is my first post to this board and only my first few days using vinyl.
I just recieved a old hand me down Kenwood KD-2070 turntable. From the looks of it it appears to be in good working order but I am coming across a few problems. On certain records, the speed sounds perfect but on other records the speed will either be too fast or too slow. If the record is playing too slow, if I change the speed setting to 45 instead of 33, it plays at normal speed. My questions are:

1. Does it appear to be a motor problem yet certain records play at the correct speed,

2. Speed Control Problem.

I am new to turntables and any advice is helpful, Thanks.

I forgot to mention that occasionlly while playing, the record will speed up really fast and then slow down and repeat. The Speed Control knob does not seem to work as it will always speed up the record no matter which way I turn the knob.

It is most likely a problem in the servo network. It needs to be looked at by a technician.
