I have a Pioneer VSX-454 receiver and I want to connect a Yamaha subwoofer YST-SW015 to it.On the back of the Pioneer it has only one Pre-out for a subwoofer. In the owners manuel for the Yamaha under "connections" it has a note stating that if there is only one Pre-out do not connect the subwoofer. How can I connect it up. Thanks for any help |

That doesn't make any sense. It has line level connections made for the receiver pre-out. Go ahead and use the RCA input on the sub. |

They probable meant that you shouldn't use an all-frequency pre-out like you'd find on a pre-amp to feed an amplifier and then speakers (i.e. do feed the sub anything over 200 Hz or so). What you have done is fine. Glad it worked out for you.
