I will really appreciate it if someone could please provide some input regarding this pre-amp;
Sound characteristics, Compatibility with other brands like NAD or Rotel Amps, etc.

It sounds like music and will mate well with components that do likewise. McIntosh has plenty of reviews on the internet. Mac sound is Mac sound, it sounds like music and that hasn't changed in the last 50 years.

In your opinion and expertise, would it be a mistake to try to match it with a NAD C-270 Amp?

These might sound like pretty basic questions but since my knowledge in audio is pretty limited I feel like a lucked out when I found this website while navigating through the Internet.
