So I have an ascend acoustics system with a Pioneer 1014 reciever and PB10 SVS sub and am looking for a real good CD player (preferably recorder and DVD capabilites as well) I know some of these are more expensive than the ones there being compared too so the question is whether or not they are worth the price as which they are being listed.

Cayan CDT 17a - Looks really nice and Ive heard good things but hard to find.

Sony W2000 - This guy is a recorder too! and the price seems resonable

Nad542 - doesnt look that great but if it makes up for it in sound, Ill take it.

Harmon Kardon - No recorder but great looking and cheap

Some others I was considering were the Sherwood 980T and Denon W1500.
Any suggestions?

Sorry, I can't compare the 4 as I've only heard the Nad BUT it's a 'proper' audiophile-standard cd player, no bells or whistles, just good sound across the spectrum. I'd find it very hard to believe that any of those other picks are any better.
