See, what I'm really doing is using the receiver from my Onkyo 770 package with their sks-ht240 speakers. They seem to have better clarity and look better style wise than the boxed 520's that come with the 770 system. Any comments? Thanks.

Chris is right. Even at high listening levels you should be ok because traditionally Onkyo products are clean (i.e., limit distortion). But if you crank it up to full volume and run it for a while, you'll probably blow your ear drums and your speaker warranty.
