I have a Yamaha RX-V470 and it just will not stay on. I turn it on and it instantly shuts right back off. I need to know what this could be because it is very frustrating. A friend told me it ould be a relay ?? I have 2 Sony Bookself speakers hooked up and thats it each 100 watts, so i dont think it is my speakers. Thanks to anyone who helps me with this. |

It could be going into protection mode. Check your speaker and other connections for a stray wire that might be shorting the circuit. If it is switching itself off right away and not getting a chance to overheat, that's the only cause I can think of other than some internal problem which you may have to get repaired.

If you disconnect EVERYTHING from the receiver and it still shuts down immediately, the receiver needs servicing. |
