I having been auditioning Sudio 20s & 40s for an HT setup. My wife has found the cherry finish acceptable. However, I note in the literature that only the black finish is magnetically shielded in these speakers. Anyone have experience using the non-shielded Studio versions in an HT? How far from a TV should they be placed in order to avoid interference? Thanks.

When I purchased my Studio 20's, I seem to recall that you could order magnetically shielded 20's in any finish -- for an extra $40 or so. You might want to double check on that. Shoot an e-mail to techsup@paradigm.ca.

In any event, if your TV is a CRT, the speakers should be no closer than 18" unless there is some sort of barrier between them, e.g., a cabinet shelf divider, etc. Of course, if you get any interference, you could gradually move them farther away until the interference ceased. If your TV is LCD, DLP or Plasma, my understanding is that they will not be affected by the speaker's magnet.
