Have you listened to Marantz. Similar pricing superior quality. I also own Paradigm Monitor series speakers (5's and Mini's).

Haven't heard the Denon but had the Onkyo 601 and its music performance was underwhelming. If you mainly do HT though the Onkyo should be fine. The 602 should be around $300 at jandr.com shipped.

I agree with Arthur, the Marantz would be better, shipped the 4500 is $400 and the 5500 is $600 at hifi.com
