Great forum and thx for the advice in advance.
I'm building a new home and want to install a pair of in-ceiling speakers with volume controls in the kitchen and dining room. Questions is should I use 2 or 4 strand wire? Wire in series or parallel? I also plan on using impedence matching volume controls. Any other suggestions?

btw- My "daily driver" is Cambridge Audio Azur w/ Epos ELS-3's. |

See if those links provide answers that arise during the process. I always wire with four conductor cables. If a wire breaks or gets shorted during construction, you have a spare. If it survives intact you can double up the conductors for lower resistance. Series or parallel is a matter of how you want to use the system. Series requires both sets of speakers be on to operate one set. Parallel is an either/or situation. Series will result in higher impedance which is always safer for the amp.
I used to live in an apartment on Main St. in Edwardsville, down by the old Fiat dealership in the '70's. I got an undergrad degree at S.I.U.E. Is Ronnie B's or Vanzo's still in business?

Ronnie B's, no. Vanzo's yes. I live near downtwon off St. Louis Street (near the now old High School). Crazy!
