Hi everyone, I have an Onkyo TX SV-424, and when it got delivered, the balance-bass-treble knobs didnt work. I have it hooked up to two Infinity Entra three speakers, and the bass sounds really distorted when i turn them up. They are connected to my laptop, i mainly listen to mp3s from it, but when i previously hooked up my laptop to other setups (Cerwin Wega speakers and yamaha receiver) they sounded perfectly, so i presume the problem lies within the receiver, despite te fact that i listen to fair quality mp3 from my laptop. Can anyone tell me how i could improve the quality of the sound? I also purchased an external Audigy 2 sound card, so that i can avoid the minijack.
p.s.: i play through winamp, and the only way i can get fairly average bass is when i turn them all down in the equalizer section of winamp.
Pls. someone help me out,

Thank you
Endre

Balance Base and Treble don't work when you are in 'CD Direct' mode...
