I know that it's best that you use matched speakers from the same co. but how much does it matter with regards to the sub?

Maybe Im going out on a limb here since Im not the sub expert, but I'll say not at all.....zero.

Since all the low frequencies will go exclusively through your sub, what would it have to match??

Now, if you buy two subs.......they should match if you plan to play them in the same room.

Not if you run them with a high-low pass crossover. You could have an 8-10" running the 40Hz+ range and a 12+" strictly for below 40Hz.

thanks guys, also, I have a pioneer 1014, and when I do the setup, there is something about the thx speakers, what exactly does that mean/do?
