From what I have been able to learn so far. Harman Kardon seems to be my best bet. Anyone else have strong opinions on receiver brands or models? I appreciate all the help. |

rotel is my favorite of that bunch, and add B&K to that list as well. B&K recievers can produce sound that rivals the best in seperate components, but at a price that comes at seperates, IE in the thousands.

Well, I spent 5 hours going around to all the electronics stores I could think of in the Phoenix metro area and ended up at CompUSA. I know who shops at CompUSA for home theater equipment. But I had recently leared that they are no longer going to carry home theater equipment. Because of this they are trying to move all their current stock. Which means great prices. So I ended up with the Harman/Kardon AVR 330. I was able to get it for around $250. And from the little i've tested it so far, I am very pleased. Thanks for all of the suggestions though. Unfortunately, I just can't afford any of the high end receivers listed. |

A h/k avr-330 is a fine choice! I have an avr-325 and I'm very pleased with it. Peter
