I have had a Yamaha RXV-2400 reciever for over a year. I am more than satified with the performance and features it offers considering the price I paid (900 cdn) I, like many people on this forum have no problem with spending countless hours (and I mean countless) listening and tweaking crossover freq's, delay times, speaker levels, speaker placement, etc.
My only delemma is that I just can't seem to satisfy myself when it comes to the manual EQ settings for all seven channels.
Can anyone give me a rough idea how to set up the EQ to get Tight responsive bass, clear detailed highs, and midrange that won't screw with both?

FYI I use my system more for movies than music, though I do listen to music quite a bit (multichannel mainly)
