I have a passive sub woofer, does anyone know how to connect it to a JVC RX-6042 http://newbie.shopping.com/xPF-JVC_RX_6042
The manual for the AV only talks about connecting a powered sub woofer via RCA pin plugs. Is there a RCA cable where the other end is just speaker cable and would this work?

sean it is best that you buy an powered subwoofer. it would save your receiver from powering 5 speakers and a sub. but if you cant afford an powered sub, you can do two things. 1. you can by an outboard amp and hook it up to your sub, or 2. You can go on ebay and look for an Kenwood VR-6070. That receiver can uses its rear center channel for 6.1 system or a passive sub. I'd say try the Kenwood!!!
