I'm trying to hook up my father's old phonograph.
It's a great machine (Kenwood KD-500) and I have no RCA outputs...I can't think of how to hook it up to my amp (which does have an RCA input).
There is a spot which a ground wire used to be I believe and there are also two screws, one which has what looks to be a speaker wire connected to it....
Please Help! |

If it's a ceramic cartridge--forget it because it will blow your pre-amp. if it's a magnetic cartridge trace the wires from the arm. there should be four. the standard is red, green, white and blue which are right, right ground, left and left ground respectively. there should also be a ground shield which goes to the pre-amp.
with RCA plugs the center is hot.
good luck.
by the way if your cartridge is ceramic, you may be able to use the aux input.
