I recently got this unit, and I cannot get the sound quite right. When I try putting the EQ in manual mode, no sound can be heard and the adjustments do nothing, If I put it in AUTO it sounds like the highs are to loud.
Shouldn't I be able to adjust the eq while listening to the sound?
I am thinking of returning the unit, but it is such a pain to disconnect and reconnect

Unplug it and take it back. It sounds like your Digital Signal Processor is defective, which happens frequently- with all brands.
