Okay, I decided to purchase a new receiver. I bought a Pioneer 6.1 VSX-D912. Love it. As I was looking throught the manual, it stated that the speakers should be 8-16 ohm. I checked the back of my Yamaha's (I only have a pair) and they say 6 ohm. Do I have to return the receiver? Am I going to destroy it (that is what I was told by a friend) I'm looking to accomodate the speakers, I would rather return the receiver. Suggestions?

Your VSX-D912 is a damn good receiver so why throw it way? I'll pay the shipping if you could throw it to my house :-). It'll drive the 6-ohm speakers all right but make sure you have at least 2.5" space around ti for good ventilation. Just make sure you don't use 4-ohm speakers with it.
