hi guys
am planning to add a centre channel to my setup soon (currently using a phantom centre)consisting of wharfedale diamond 8.2 fronts driven my marantz sr4300.
i was just thinkthing that instead of buying the dedicated wharfedale diamond Centre Channel spkr why not buy a pair of 8.1 bookshelves which wld cost abt the same. which wld mean for the same price i wld get an extra spkr (which i cld use as the surround back). are there any disadvantages to this, u think? can i place the bookshelf sideways?
also since i hv an RPTV i will be mounting the CC spkr (whichever i decide) on the wall behind the tv; so size is not that big an issue since even the dedicated wharfedale diamond centre is too large to place on top.
appreciate your input and sorry if this topic has been approached before; i did a search but nothing came up.
thnx
