I have Polk RM6600 speakers with a PSW350.
My question, Marantz SR6300 or Marantz SR5400?
Same price new. I want to make the decision today and I, like others, value your opinion.

Normally, I vote for the one with the most power, but not this time. I recommend the 5400. It has been bench tested by Sound & Vision and it has demonstrated itself to be a real winner. Plus, there is one more thing. Marantz knows when they have a winner in their line, that is, one that hits the sweet spot, and once identified, they will develop a higher priced "ose" version of it using better parts. Last year, it was the 7300 that got the "ose" treatment. This year, it is the 5400, which tells me that Marantz thinks the platform can sustain a higher price. So, I suggest the 5400.

Thanks Hawk. Any suggestions for good places to buy from on-line. I found a couple, but would like a better selection if you have some reputable places. Thanks again!
