Hi,

Could some one differentiate between active and passive crossovers.
Also give me names of some good amps which have active crossover.

An active X-over utilizes electronic circuitry activated by a (typically) AC voltage to accomplish the division of frequencies. Passive X-overs have no outside voltage applied to the components of the X-over, and, therefore, have only the voltage of the incoming signal present at the input of the network. Active X-overs can offer more precision and control of the actual function of the X-over. Amplifiers do not have X-overs.

Active X-overs are typically placed in front of the amplifer's input. Passive units are more commonly found after the amplifier's output stages.

Hi!

I would like to buy a good Hi-Fi system which can double up for a good home theatre.Can I go for a good AV amp.If so will I get equal output for both the above mentioned. Kindly suggest a good AV amplifier.

You can have the phase shift problem with de active x-overs while the passive don't have this delay problem...
