Micheal,
It really depends on the speakers you plan on buying, or what you have already. What speakers do you own?

It Also heavily depends on personal preferences, for some, Kenwoods THX or user interface might be important, for others Pioneers MCACC is more important. With that long of a list, you have to really go and try each out for yourself. Each has its ups and downs, what you have to find out is what you need and dont.


The sound however, is the byfar MOST important thing. All receivers are fairly user freindly, and sound should be first. If you have a pair of speakers already, see if you can find a local dealer and bring your speakers in. This is the best way to find the best receiver, but start first by "trying out" each receiver and seeing which apeals most.
