Has anyone tried to upgrade the new firmware 5.02 for HK AVR 630? If yes, please give your comments on the new firmware. Is it better? Any problem? Thanks. |

Yes I did, It took about 1 hour to upgrade the cpu and dsp. I think it is a bit better, no more 2 second delay at start of a song from cd.
I wish Harmon would list the advantages of 5.02 over 4.01! |

Bad news! When I started the CPU upgrade, the status stayed at "Erasing.." forever (more than one hour), I shut down the receiver after that, and could not be able to start the upgrade again. The console screen kept showing "WAIT DATA", and I could not turn on the receiver again.
Good news! I still have time to exchange for another one.
Vancouver, how long did it take you to upgrade the CPU part? Thanks. |

The cpu upgrade took about 6 min, try flashing it again and follow the detailed instuctions. Good luck. |
