I am thinking of getting a CD player sometime soon for my stereo system and am wondering what suggestions people have. I don't want to have to spend more than $300 for one. I currently have my system hooked up to my computer and am playing music that I've copied to my HD. I have a pair B&W 601 S1 and a HK 3480 stereo reciever. I am thinking of buying the HK CD player. I don't plan to keep this specific setup for a very long time so a used player is welcome to the list. I am a little new to the audio world so any suggestions would be welcome. I know of Marantz and Rotel making very good stuff and have been reading through the posts and see NAD come up alot. Specific models to look out for would be appreciated rather than just company names. |

There are some great bargains on used NAD as well. C541, C541i can be had for less than $300. There are some Music Hall CDP's mmf-cd-25 for $375 on audiogon that get rave reviews for their price/performance ratio. I was using a cheap DVD as a CDP and recently purchased a C541 used. The difference in sound is worth the upgrade. |

T512 is a DVD player. DVD players will not sound as good for CD Playback compared to CD only players at the same price range. The NAD 521 CD players are also good players. They don't do HDCD but do CD playback very well. |

what do people think of these cd players? Marantz CD5400 $299.99 Marantz CC-4300 $249.99 i like the carousel cd changer idea, but is the Marantz CD5400 worth the extra $50? |

I have a Onkyo DX-C330 CD player that when you play a CD you get a poping noise on play back. Has anyone else had this happen? |
